"Novosti Khirurgii" (bimonthly)
The journal "Novosti Khirurgii" is the forum for exchanging the scientific information in such fields as surgery, cardiosurgery, traumatology-orthopedics, neurosurgery, oncology, urology, anesthesiology and intensive care, transfusiology. Being established in 1995 as a University journal by present it has become an international scientific and practical publication known not only in the countries of CIS, but also in some European countries.
The journal is to provide a wide coverage of scientific advances in the realm of clinical and objective of the experimental medicine. The journal publishes the papers possessing by scientific and practical value for a wide range of surgeons and covering various fields of this specialty. Publication not only clinical but experimental researches which subsequently can be the basis for the development of new methods for diagnosing and treating surgical diseases is considered as the distinctive feature of the journal.
Full-size original articles, reviews, descriptions of practical cases, information about scientific forums are published in the journal. Preference is given to scientific and practical works containing new results of clinical and experimental work in various areas of surgery. The reviews with the analysis of current international publication permitted to evaluate the studied problem are welcomed by the editorial staff.
Particular attention is given to reports of clinical cases that merit the interest of international scientific medical community. The papers offering the innovative methods of treatment and new technological developments are published in the journal primarily. The journal also publishes the analytical materials of international congresses and conferences with summary of the most important information.
The publication is free of charge. The commercial papers are not published in the journal. No financial obligations to the authors can pursue an editorial independent policy and balanced publication within the framework of the high professional standards. The papers are published in Russian but the journal welcomes manuscripts in English from foreign authors (Germany, Poland, Israel, Bulgaria, Russian Federation, etc.).
The journal publishes papers in Russian and English. To provide a wider acquaintance of specialists not possessing by Russian language the comprehensive summaries in English (230-250 words) are provided with each paper. The editor-in-chief of the journal "Novosti Khirurgii" and the members of the Editorial Board and Editorial Council are highly-qualified professionals, specialists working in the leading medical centers of the Republic of Belarus, Russia and others countries of CIS and European Union.
To ensure the quality of the published materials and compliance with the copyrights all coming to the journal articles are pre-tested to antiplagiat, reviewed and carefully selected. Reviewing of manuscripts is carried out by the leading specialists of the countries of CIS, Baltic States, Poland and Germany. The high standard of the reviewing process allows publication of suitable quality documents.
Despite of high standards for the published materials the editors practice the policy of support opportunities for young authors and practitioners striving for publishing their works and provide the overall assistance in preparing manuscripts. Scientific papers of the final year post-graduates (if they meet all requirements) are published out of order after reviewing.
Thanks to providing a high scientific level of the published papers the journal "Novosti Khirurgii" is included in the list of the leading scientific publications of High Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus and High Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation for publishing articles containing materials of dissertation investigations.
The journal is spread through the subscription and has international readers including Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Germany, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Israel and Bulgaria. The readers of the journal include: students, post-graduates, masters of Science, doctors and candidate of science, professors, head of laboratories, academic personal from various origins such as: pharmacists, physicians and other health professionals.
The journal (all issues contents, summaries, key words, addresses for correspondence and information about authors) is available on the site to the wide range of specialists who are not the journal’s subscribers and constantly renewed in Russian and English. Since 2006 the access to the archive of the journal (full text articles) is opened. Access to full text articles of the current issues is for registered users only.
The journal is available at http://www.surgery.by. Since 2006 the access to the archive of the journal (full-text articles) is opened and all issues are available in the Russian scientific electronic library (http://elibrary.ru). The journal is included in the database of the Russian Science Citation Index and is indexed by the information-analytical system Science Index. In 2013 year the journal was included in Internation databases: SCOPUS, EBSCO, Ulrich's Periodicals Directory™ (Serials Solutions, ProQuest) and Index Copernicus. The journal is included in CrossRef, an independent association of scholarly publishers that develops shared infrastructure to support more effective scholarly communications (using the universal identifier - a Digital Object Identifier (DOI). The publishers assigns DOI to the scientific articles, have the opportunity to identify HTML- and PDF-content in CrossMark with a CrossRef DOI, which is an indicator of the reliability of the scientific article, and provides information about the current status of the publication.
The papers published in the journal "Novosti Khirurgii" are equated with the ones included in the list of peer-reviewed scientific publications of Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, in which basic scientific results of dissertations for the degree of candidate of science, for the degree of doctor of science should be published (Conclusion of the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation No. 15/348 of May 29, 2015).
